Hello, I'm Sonya and welcome to Adore Your Outdoors.
I'm a certified Forest Therapy Guide and I connect stressed and anxious adults and teenagers to nature, so they can move towards being the healthier, happier and more resilient person they are truly meant to be.
I also run team building events with a difference, and deliver employee wellbeing programmes.
Forest Therapy is sometimes called forest bathing or Shinrin-Yoku, and can be described as 2-3 hours of mindfulness activities and guided meditation exercises in the forest. Find out more about a typical session. I hope that participants will come to realise how worthwhile this form of self-care can be, and the importance of human connection to nature. With the Coronavirus crisis and the Climate Emergency, we need nature now more than ever.
As well as working with organisations on their employee wellbeing programmes, I partner with local, small business owners to offer full day retreats and workshops that include yoga, breathing exercises and meditation, as well as with national and regional organisations such as Forestry England, The National Trust, Sir Harold Hilliers Gardens, Hampshire Cultural Trust and Hampshire County Council. I guide in 7 different locations across Hampshire and West Berkshire; Newbury (my absolute favourite forest!), Basingstoke, Micheldever, Winchester, Eastleigh, Southampton and Waterlooville.
