About Adore Your Outdoors

Hi, I'm Sonya and welcome to (multi-award-winning!) Adore Your Outdoors.

My mission is to ease the pain and suffering that so many of us are feeling these days because we have become so disconnected from nature. We are nature. We are not meant to spend so much time indoors and connected to technology. I am certain that nature connection can help you in untold ways; boosting your mood, releasing blocked emotions and moving you towards being the healthier, happier and more resilient version of yourself you are truly meant to be

The services offered by Adore Your Outdoors centre around the practice of Forest Bathing (Shinrin-Yoku/Forest Therapy). The techniques used are practical skills that you can reuse, and once you start to deepen your connection to nature, you notice more and more beauty all around. This is nothing like your average walk in the woods - expect to be fascinated. You can join a 1-to-1 experience, group adult and family sessions, team building/reconnection events with a difference or employee wellbeing programmes to boost productivity. You can also join a shorter group session on zoom, enjoy a 1-to-1 'walk and talk' or buy a beautifully illustrated set of Shinrin-Yoku experience cards.

I started Adore Your Outdoors in summer 2019 and I'm proud to say in 2020 I won Silver at the SOStar Awards in the Wellbeing category and #QueenOf Forest Therapy on Twitter.

Shinrin-Yoku involves 2–3 hours of mindfulness activities and guided meditation exercises in the forest. Find out more about a typical session. I hope that you will come to realise how worthwhile this form of self-care can be, and the importance of human connection to nature. With the Coronavirus crisis and the Climate Emergency, we need nature now more than ever. Some of the techniques I teach you can be repeated without a guide, meaning you have new tools in your self-care toolbox.

Adore Your Outdoors partners with local, small business owners to offer full and half-day retreats and workshops that include yoga, painting and breathing exercises. I also work with national and regional organisations such as Forestry England, The National Trust, Sir Harold Hillier Gardens, Hampshire Cultural Trust and Hampshire County Council.  My VIP Card cardholders are eligible for a 10% discount.
